Collected from public records, ancient chartularies of the monasteries of Paisley, Arbroath, Kelso, Dunfermline, Melross, Balmerinoch, Schoon, Dryburgh, Cambuskenneth, Aberdeen and Murray; and from the best historians and private manuscripts.
